76 mm Blank (Salute) Cartridge

Purpose:
The 76 mm blank round is designed for ceremonial and training purposes. It does not contain a projectile or explosive warhead. Instead, it produces a loud report (bang) and smoke to simulate live firing without the associated dangers.

• Caliber: 76 mm
• Application: Used in 76 mm artillery guns, specifically for models such as the M48 B-1 or M42 ZIS-3
• Marking: Usually marked with the words “BLANK 76 mm” and “FOR GUN M48 B-1” or “ZIS-3”, indicating compatibility
• Appearance: Cylindrical brass or green-painted casing, sealed at the top
• Filled with: Propellant only — typically NC (nitrocellulose) powder or another blank powder to simulate muzzle blast
• No projectile: There is no shell or explosive tip
