Description
TRAKON TARGAN is a naval remote-controlled weapon station (RCWS) developed by UNIROBOTICS in cooperation with defense partners. It is specifically designed to provide close-in protection for naval platforms such as offshore patrol vessels. The system is optimized for modern threats, including unmanned aerial systems (UAS), fast attack craft, and asymmetric surface threats.
Key Features
-
Multi-Caliber Support: Typically equipped with a 12.7 mm CANiK M2 QCB heavy machine gun, and optionally configurable to support 30 mm automatic cannons.
-
Full-Axis Targeting: Provides 360-degree traverse and a wide elevation range (from -15° to +55°), allowing for rapid engagement of aerial and surface targets without repositioning.
-
Stabilized Electro-Optical Sensors: Integrated day/night vision, thermal imaging, laser rangefinder, and automatic target tracking ensure precision in all conditions.
-
Combat Management System Integration: Fully compatible with modern naval CMS platforms, enabling automated threat detection, target sharing, and centralized fire control.
-
Robust Naval Design: Constructed with corrosion-resistant materials, low radar signature, and environmental shielding, making it ideal for deployment in harsh marine environments.
Operational Use
-
Installed on modern offshore patrol vessels to provide autonomous or remote-operated close-in defense.
-
Effective in counter-UAS roles, engaging fast and low-signature aerial targets.
-
Suitable for coastal defense systems, port security, and naval convoys.
-
Reduces operator risk through complete remote operation, with controls managed from protected zones inside the ship.
Tactical Value
-
Provides real-time surveillance and target engagement in high-threat maritime environments.
-
Enables rapid response against swarming boats, drones, and sea-skimming projectiles.
-
Modular and scalable—can be adapted to a wide range of vessel sizes and mission profiles.
-
Part of the TRAKON family of weapon stations, ensuring logistical and operational consistency.
